3 Powerful Weight Loss Drinks to Have In the Morning
All night long, your body is working to detoxify, heal, and repair. When you wake up, it needs a generous amount of water to flush toxins out and hydrate every cell and organ for optimal health and function.
1. Detoxifying Water Recipe with Antioxidants
Of all the weight loss drinks you try, this is probably the one that requires the least effort. The most important and effective practice you can do every day is to drink at least 20-32oz of filtered water every morning with added antioxidants and minerals. This flushes out toxins, boosts your metabolism, and hydrates every cell and organ in your body so you feel and look your best.
First thing in the morning, fill a glass with 20-32 oz of water and add one of the following:
1-2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
All of these add-ins contain enzymes, minerals, antioxidants, and acetic acids that will curb cravings, boost metabolism, fight disease, detoxify your body, and stimulate weight loss(1)(2)(3).
2. Bulletproof Tea
After you have had your water, the next most powerful way to speed up your metabolism and fuel your brain is with certain teas and healing fat. Bulletproof simple means blending a healthy fat such as coconut oil, MCT oil, or butter/ghee into to your tea.
Healthy fat is the building block and fuel for your brain and hormones. If you are not eating enough healthy fat, your body will not be able to make the hormones it needs to lose weight. Science is now showing that eating healthy fat stimulates your body to burn fat and is one of the most important factors in mental health, and hormonal balance, and losing weight (4)(6).
Starting your day off with weight loss drinks like bulletproof tea full of healthy fat will speed up your metabolism, increase your energy, curb your hunger and sugar cravings, and improve the look of your hair and skin (7).
Choose your tea:
Below are a few teas that have been shown to boost metabolism, stimulate weight loss, increase mental function and energy, as well as support immune and cellular function for healthy aging. Adding healthy fat to your drink helps the body absorb and use the nutrients and antioxidants from the tea.
Brew tea and then add 1-2 tablespoons coconut oil.
For extra creaminess and nutrients, you can also mix 1 tablespoon coconut oil and 1 tablespoon butter or ghee.

3. Protein Shakes for Weight Loss
One of the best breakfasts you can have for weight loss is a detoxifying protein smoothie. Smoothies are an amazing way to nourish the body because they are easily digested while flooding the body with nutrients and enzymes that are critical for weight loss and a healthy body.
Eating a high carbohydrate meal in the morning (cereal, oatmeal, fruit juice) will spike your blood sugar which then spikes your cortisol (stress hormone) which then makes your body store fat (5).
Eating protein, fat, and fiber first thing in the morning is a powerful practice for weight loss. This combination of food stimulates the body to burn fat as energy, balances hormones, increases energy, and keeps you satisfied for hours without craving sugar or other food (8.)
How to Make a Protein Shake:
Add Veggies: Fill blender with a large handful of mixed greens and optional 1/2 cucumber or zucchini.
Add Healthy Fat: Next, add either 1/2 avocado, 2 tablespoons coconut oil or coconut butter, 2 tablespoons almond butter, or 2 tablespoons hemp seeds.
Add Protein: Many protein powders on the market are toxic to the body. Make sure you purchase a protein powder that is free from artificial sweeteners, preservatives, food dyes, ingredients you cannot pronounce, and soy or canola oil. Look for powders that are organic, sweetened with stevia or monk fruit, and have few added ingredients.
Add antioxidants: As an optional step, you can also add 1 handful of any kind of berry or small lemon.
Add Liquid: Simply add water, coconut milk, or almond milk. Add more to make it thinner, less to have a thick shake.
