This is what happens when you dip your feet in apple cider vinegar for 15 minutes.
While vinegar may be good for adding some flavor to your French fries, apple cider vinegar has plenty of health benefits. Made from fermented apples, many people swear by this ‘miracle’ liquid. But not only is it good for you health, it’s also an all-natural fix for plenty of skin conditions!
Apple Cider Vinegar Benefits
Some of the health benefits from apple cider vinegar include; inhibiting bacteria growth, lowering blood sugar, fighting type 2 diabetes, increased feeling of fullness and lower cholesterol in rats. It’s also been used since Hippocrates as a cleaner and disinfectant.
A lot of these stem from the high antioxidants that come from the polyphenols of the apples. It’s also high in acetic acid which helps increase your body’s absorption of important minerals in food and breaks down food easier.
When buying, the uglier the better. That is to say that the murkier vinegars with a cobweb-like substance floating inside are the highest quality. This is only available in the unfiltered and raw versions.
This substance is known as ‘mother of vinegar’ and contains many bacterial and fungal fighting properties. It is nutritional and beneficial, so don’t be afraid of the way it might look! Aside from what’s on the inside, it also great for helping outside skin problems such as foot odor. Check out how to use it.
Foot Odor Soak
Smelly feet is something you shouldn’t have to deal with anymore. ACV helps fight odor-causing bacteria by naturalizing the pH levels of your skin. So try these steps.
Pour one cup of ACV on baby wipes
Let them soak in the fridge overnight
Rub onto the soles of your feet as often as you need
You can also soak your feet directly by pouring one cup ACV to every four cups of water into a bowl. Sit for 15-20 minutes and dry thoroughly. It isn’t just for foot odors however, it can be used for all sorts of skin conditions.
Other Skin Uses
Those little white flakes are irritating and annoying. The high acidity of the ACV balances out the pH on your scalp, preventing further growth of yeast and bacteria.
Combine ¼ cup apple cider vinegar with ¼ cup water into a spray bottle. After spraying, wrap a towel around your head and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.
Soothes itchy skin
No need to reach for the calamine lotion and mittens to stop scratching. ACV is a highly effective antiseptic with antifungal properties that works well for keeping you from itching all over.
Add a few drops of raw, unfiltered ACV onto a cotton ball. Dab onto the affected areas of dry or itchy skin. Can also be used for bug bites, poison ivy, and sunburn.
Naturally remove warts/moles
Warts can appear anywhere and look unsightly. They’re usually caused by tiny cuts in the skin and are the result of an HPV infection.
Mix one cup of ACV with water. Apply onto the skin with a cotton ball. You can also soak in a bowl of diluted ACV. Repeat this for 20 minutes every night until it’s gone.
It may not cure everything, but apple cider vinegar has its benefits. Take care of your body and skin the natural way!
