Protein is primarily used to help build muscle in the body, and for this reason, it is good to use it before or after a workout to feed your muscles. But throughout the day, if you’re looking for sustained energy levels, eating protein alone may provide you with some energy but may not be the best choice on its own. Make sure you balance it with a wholesome carbohydrate so you’ll feel great for 3-4 hours or more.
