Say what you may about celebrities, but some incredibly generous and authentic ones do exist! Famed rapper Pitbull is one of them.
Pitbulls’s Humanitarian Work in Puerto Rico After Hurricane Maria
After Hurricane Maria ripped though and ravaged Puerto Rico, much of the country was left without electricity and proper drinking water. While many able-bodied community members came together to support each other, they could only do so much when it came to hospital patients.
Puerto Rico has sixty-nine hospitals, but after the hurricane, for some time, only 11 of them had fuel and power at their disposal. In Puerto Rico’s capital, San Juan, the power outages led to two deaths in an intensive care unit and children relying on generators and batteries for their survival.
Enter Pitbull (and His Plane)
In the midst of power outages caused by Hurricane Maria, the 36-year-old rapper generously offered Puerto Rico his private plane to transport cancer patients from Puerto Rico to the United States in order to receive their chemotherapy treatments.

Upon hearing this news, congresswoman representative Jenniffer González tweeted her sincere thanks: “Thank you @pitbull for lending your private plane to transport cancer patients from PR to the USA so they can get chemo.”
In reponse to The Daily News, Pitbull didn’t say much, but it meant a lot.
“Thank God we’re blessed to help. Just doing my part.”
