Sometimes it honestly feels as if there are not enough hours in the day.

Each day quite literally flies by, doesn’t it?

We often set many good intentions for the day but then – what? Suddenly it’s already 11:00 pm!

Back in bed again, only to shut our eyes, wake up – and repeat.

Did I Miss The Manual For Becoming An Adult?

Welcome to our modern world everyone; where the to-do list just keeps on growing, tasks keep falling into our laps, and we generally have more to do – but yet still only the same amount of hours in a day?

Can someone please tell me how that is supposed to work, please? I’m confused.

It can be pretty easy to get off track and lose motivation for reaching your dreams and goals when it feels like your partner, boss, friends, kids & pets all come before you.

While we all have a different daily agenda. Our lives are not so different, really. Can you take a moment to tune in on how you are truly feeling – right now, in this moment?

Are you on the brink of tears and inches away from a mental breakdown?

Are you bored and frustrated with life? Are you unsure what is going to “come next” for you? Are you feeling like you’re treading water but not moving anywhere? Are you TIRED of feeling TIRED all the time? I’ve hit a 5/5 score on those feelings above. But what do all of these things have in common? These are all clear signs that your body is in need of a Recharge because the elephant in the room right now is a nasty 6-letter word:

Do you think that your stress levels can be related to what you are feeling and experiencing (or not experiencing) in your life right now?

You’re probably wondering what a Recharge is, and how you can get one… After putting this all into perspective for you, a Recharge would sound nice…

We need to change the way we think about stress. It’s crucial for us to observe it from the rather deep view, so that we can really understand where it is coming from, and then we can let it go.

Stress is not what happens to us.
Stress is our RESPONSE to what happens – and a response is something that we can choose.

Ok, so that’s like level-5 spiritual sensay training. But that’s the real secret. Which I myself am still trying to fully comprehend.

12 Signs Your Body Is Suffering From Stress

Maybe you’re not convinced that your stress levels can be related back to your current state of health. If you can answer ‘yes’ to 3 (or more) of these statements below, take this as a clear sign that you need to address your stress and take time to Recharge:

  1. Are you sleeping poorly or not enough?
  2. Do you still feel tired after 8-hours of sleep?
  3. Does exercise further drain you of energy?
  4. Have you been trying to lose the same 10-20 lbs for a while now but your body just won’t budge?
  5. Is your skin in feeling dull and is the ‘tired’ visible on your face?
  6. Speaking of skin, are you noticing more blemishes or irritation than usual?
  7. Do you just feel EXHAUSTED on a day-to-day basis?
  8. Are you counting down the time until your next coffee break?
  9. Is your MD concerned with a hypo or hyper active thyroid?
  10. Do you crave salt like it’s nobody’s business?
  11. Is your digestion constantly off?
  12. Are you bloated right now?

For tips on addressing these symptoms and how to better handle stress, watch the following video featuring The Hearty Soul’s local nutritionist and naturopathic doctor:

Is It Just A Cruel World?

What’s going on here! What’s happening to us? Where did our vibrancy go and when did all these horrible symptoms trickle in?

How do I  pause the ‘adulting’ thing and turn down the difficulty??

Turning down the difficulty dial would be easy. But that’s not how we learn. We are capable of feeling stressed for a good reason.

It’s not because it’s a cruel world. Stress at its core is a primitive function that helps you to overcome situations that you are put in. Stress increases the production of hormones like cortisol, adrenaline and norepinepherine. Those hormones make your muscles function at peak performance, they make your brain super-sharp so that you are on your toes ready to fight-or-flight!

But the stress that we face today is different than the stress we had hundreds or even thousands of years ago.

For many of us, we no longer live a ‘simple life’. It’s pretty easy to trigger stress now – and when you’re in a bad mood, it’s so easy to find that one last little thing that just puts you over the top.

Heck, even just THINKING about something that frustrates you can actually create stress for your body.

What I’m trying to get at here, and what you need to know and remember is: your brain, at a cellular level, can’t really tell the difference between the stress of a pressing deadline at work, and the stress of running for dear life from a carnivorous wild animal.

It’s a common scenario in this modern world for our stress mode to never “turn-off”. So for many, the body thinks it’s in danger, all the time, 24/7. This opens the door to greet some unfavourable stress-related symptoms.

Quick Stress Test

Take a moment here are think about how many times your stress mode is activated in a typical day.

For most, it can be activated immediately upon rising.

Let’s say you wake up late and are rushing to get ready in time – TRIGGERED.
Get in a nice good-morning argument with your spouse, sibling, parent or kid? – TRIGGERED.
Stuck in traffic during your morning commute? – TRIGGERED.
Opening your email inbox to painfully-specific, undermining or demanding emails from your boss/coworker? – TRIGGERED.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say stress is probably the reason why:

  • You can’t get a good night’s sleep
  • Life feels overwhelming
  • You can’t reach your goal weight
  • Increase in anxiety & depression
  • You feel like you can’t cope anymore
  • Have lost all motivation and drive
  • Your heart always feels like it’s racing, and the sweat – o.m.g.
  • Digestion is off and eating almost anything is making you bloated
  • You have a non-existent libido
  • Hyper and hypo thyroid related issues are developed

Being in stress mode for too long doesn’t feel good as far as the negative associated symptoms go. Experiencing non-stop stress, long-term weakens ALL of the systems in your body– beginning with the adrenal glands, and often the thyroid comes next. Nobody wants to be in a burnout, but so many of are constantly hovering around this point.

So how do we get out of constant stress mode, what is Recharge and can we really stop feeling tired all the time?

The Ultimate Stress Detox

I’ve been there done that. Stress was like my first nature to everything and it took me years for me to overcome my own issues, figure it all out and get on track to feeling my best. I’m here now- yay! – and I’m ready to help!

Before Recharge I thought I had tried everything for weight loss, improving digestion, getting a better sleep and increasing my energy levels but each time I missed the root-freaking-cause.

Stress is the ROOT CAUSE.

You can take metabolism boosters, you can workout daily, take digestive enzymes and probiotics and melatonin and other magical supplements, and these might give you temporary relief, but these are not addressing the root where all of these symptoms stem from. This is the dangerous downward spiral that you don’t want to be in.

Key work in a Recharge is supporting your adrenals, nourishing your body with whole foods, taking adaptogenic boosters, taking that often neglected but much needed time for YOU, and most importantly; training your mind’s response to stress.

That’s the short form of Recharge in a sentence.

If you can create your own program from that sentence, go forth – if you want a complete stress-detox program that goes into detail on:

  • Your Top 5 Stressors & How to Handle Them
  • The 4 Stages of Adrenal Fatigue: discover which phase you are in and what shows up on blood tests
  • The connection between Adrenal Fatigue and Thyroid Issues
  • What to eat and why! The “Recharge” Meal Plan
  • Recharge exclusive plant-based recipes to nourish (such as my Coconut Turmeric Bites)
  • How long it takes to Recharge (this can be a 2-week or 1-month stress-detox!)
