What You’ll Need:
- 1 tbsp Cayenne pepper
- 2 tbsp Mustard seeds
- 2 tsp Ginger
- 250 ml sunflower oil /olive oil/ coconut oil
Cayenne pepper is an excellent herb for cooking but it has been used for its medicinal powers for centuries. The reason cayenne pepper is such a popular alternative medicine is because it has an active ingredient called capsaicin, which relieves pain by acting on your sensory nerves.
Mustard seeds act as an irritant to your skin, which triggers blood flow to the area of inflammation. Mustard seeds have been proven to help relieve the pain brought on by rheumatism and arthritis. The seeds will increase your body temperature in the effected area, which soothes your achy muscles.
Ginger decreases arthritis joint pain and inflammation because it is a natural anti-inflammatory. Its active ingredient singibain and gingerols suppress the free radicals and other substances that encourage tissue swelling.
Mix all 4 ingredients in a sealable jar and let incubate for 1 week. Stir the mixture when the week is up and use a very small amount of the mixture topically where you are feeling joint pain. Make sure you rinse the mixture off if you feel any strong burning (you should feel some burning) and apply heat instead.
