I seem to always be craving chocolate. Unfortunately, most chocolate is loaded with sugar – and not the natural kind. Thankfully, I discovered this recipe that has satisfied my cravings without causing me to indulge in artificial sweeteners. I don’t feel like I’m giving into my craving when making this Raw Cacao Cashew Almond butter Pudding. It’s delicious and a great way to curb your sugar intake!


The compounds in raw cacao are packed with powerful antioxidants called flavonoids. These antioxidants destroy harmful free radicals in your system. Free radicals naturally build up in your body, but having an excess amount results in damage to cells and causes illnesses. The antioxidants found in cacao also benefit your cardiovascular system and can help improve circulation, as well as prevent heart disease.

Almond Butter

Nuts help regulate your blood sugar level, further helping you avoid any risk of heart disease. This is one of the many reasons why nuts should be in your diet. Adding as little as one tablespoon of nuts to your diet every few days can keep your heart and your blood sugar levels healthy. Almond butter is jam packed with nutrients like copper and calcium that help stimulate your brain and strengthen your nervous system.

Almond butter is also very beneficial because of it’s vitamin E content. Vitamin E aids in cell communication and has been proven to help prevent cardiovascular disease. Moreover, almond butter contains fibre which promotes healthy digestion and improves your cholesterol levels.



Cashews have the ability to stop cancer cells from dividing. They can help prevent your risk of developing cancer, specifically colon cancer, as their copper content helps fight free radicals in your body. Cashews are also rich in magnesium, which strengthens your bones and keeps them healthy. It’s incredible what this little nut can do for you and your health.

Raw Cacao Cashew Almond butter Vegan Pudding

Serves: 2

Prep time: 8 hrs

Cook time: None


  • 1 cup of raw cashews (soaked overnight or at least 8 hours) in fresh filtered water
  • 1/3 cup of fresh filtered water
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons of cacao powder
  • 1 small or 1/2 of a very ripe banana
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of almond butter(I melted Justin’s)
  • Pinch of salt

Optional toppings:


  1. Drain the cashews and rinse them.
  2.  Place those and your other ingredients into your blender.  Blend on high for about a minute.
  3. Then stop and scrape the sides down and blend for another minute again.
  4.  Spoon into your bowls and refrigerate until chilled.
