On October 30, 1911, Eileen Ash was born – and she is still alive today in Norwich, England. At what she makes seem like the ripe age of 105, the former English women’s cricketer is incredibly active and shows no sign of slowing down.

Eileen’s Secret

People around the world recognize her by the yellow Mini car she still drives, which she refers to as her second love…after cricket.[1] But in her most recent interview, Eileen shared her simple secret to living a long life.


Yoga, a Balanced Diet, and Red Wine

Eileen regularly attends yoga classes and has done so for the past thirty years. (Don’t worry if you can’t attend classes as often as her, though, because you only need five minutes a day.)

Yoga “helps your brain because you have to think and …improves your muscles,” says Eileen. ”You know you just feel fit.”[2]

When asked if she wakes up with aches and pains, she answered, full of life: “Not yet, when I’m older I will, apparently, but what is old?”[3]

Seeing just this glimpse into Eileen’s life answers that question. She is redefining what it means to be “old” and proves the adage, age is just a number.
