Honey helps to lock in and attract moisture, all of which is great for your hair. Massage a ½ cup of honey into clean, damp hair and let it sit for 20 minutes. After you have let it sit you can rinse your hair with warm water.
3. Dull Hair
Dairy products like sour cream and yogurt are great for dull hair. They help moisturize and reverse hair damage. Massage a ½ cup of sour cream or plain yogurt into damp hair and let it sit for 20 minutes.
After you have let it sit rinse with warm water, followed by cool water, and then shampoo you hair like you normally would. Apply this treatment every other week for the best results.
4. Itchy Scalp
To fight off flakes, caused from poor diet, stress, climate and other factors, try a lemon juice and olive oil mixture. The lemon juice helps remove flakes, while the olive oil moisturizes.
Mix 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of water, and then massage this mixture deep into your scalp. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse and shampoo your hair. Do this every other week for the most beautiful flake free hair.
5. Frizzy Hair
If you’re looking for a way to smoothen or weigh down your hair then you’ve got to get your hands on some avocado. The avocado oils and proteins help wit this process, and it’s easy to apply. Mash up about half an avocado and massage it onto damp hair, then let it sit for 15 minutes. If you want to amp up the treatment add 1 to 2 teaspoons of egg yolk, mayo or sour cream. Do this every few weeks for the best results.
6. Limp or Fine Hair
To add volume to your hair try using beer, yes I said beer. The yeast in beer works to plump tired tresses. Mix a ½ cup of beer that has sat for a few hours, with a teaspoon of light oil and a raw egg. Apply it to clean, damp hair and let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
7. Residue-Ridden Hair
Baking soda is the best cure for residue–ridden hair because sodium bicarbonate breaks down anything that is acidic.
Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda with a small amount of water until it forms a thick paste. Massage the paste onto your clean, damp hair and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then rinse your hair with water and shampoo like you normally would. Apply this treatment every two weeks.
