‘Breakfast is the most important meal of the day’- I bet you’ve been told that a million times, well, so have I. Now these words can actually be proven correct as, ‘Eating breakfast is a common trait among people who have lost weight and kept it off. Eating a healthful breakfast may help you avoid getting “over-hungry” and then overeating later in the day.’(1)

So stop being lazy and drop those pounds by getting out of bed only 5, 10 or 15 minutes earlier than usual as ‘Breakfast reduces hunger and prevents eating binges’.(2)  Finally! The secret to stopping boxes of chocolates and tubs of ice cream from being consumed in such short amounts of time.

Not only is breakfast beneficial for weight loss but it is ‘ an important factor in nutrition, especially during growth stages’(3). It’s extremely important we give our children breakfast as ‘Teens who consumed greater amounts of calcium and dairy foods at breakfast had higher intakes of calcium and dairy foods throughout the day’states (4).

By making sure, the whole family consumes a healthy breakfast we will ensure that the right amount of nutrients are being absorbed or if you are trying to lose weight then you are efficiently doing so!
