When Jonah Hill first caught the attention of Hollywood fans, it was for his acting role in 2007’s film Superbad. He was a rather overweight young man in his early 20’s at the time of his major acting debut, but since then his weight fluctuated significantly under the public eye. After notable physical transformations from role to role, Hill recently shocked his fans with the most dramatic change they’d seen so far. Now 33, he thanks his nutritionist and a personal daily push-up goal for helping him get trimmer than he’s ever been.

How Did Jonah Hill Lose All The Weight?
In an interview with ABC News in 2011, Hill shared that he started going to a nutritionist to help manage his weight. “He really helped me understand nutrition… He had me write down the things that were my favorite food. And it was like the menu of a 6 year old’s birthday party. It was like chicken fingers and pizza and absurd things for an adult person to be consuming. It was interesting to learn about it and something I really gravitated towards,” Hill said, laughing.
So what changed? “I used to literally never eat vegetables, and now they taste good to me! Now I eat lots of Japanese foods with cooked vegetables and soy sauce.” In a separate radio interview, he also points out the influence of his peers. “All my friends were in college, so I was living like a frat guy, everyone was just drinking beer and eating pizzas.”
In a radio interview, Jonah also shared his new fitness habits. “I started physically running instead of emotionally running,” he jokes.
“A friend of mine said ‘If you do a hundred push-ups a day, you’ll be in shape.’ And I worked my way up and now I do that every day. I started at like 10. ”
But Hill knows it wasn’t just fitness that helped him drop the pounds. “I already started to lose weight before the ‘working out’ part of the deal.”
