Do you know what’s going on in your mouth?
These days, more and more people are looking to dentists to help treat the dental problems that come as a result of a poor diet and lifestyle. This unhealthy combination translates into a number of different conditions that can have permanent effects on your overall health.
The scary part is that not many people are aware of where or how these health problems show up. For instance, did you know that autoimmune diseases, neurological disorders, as well as chronic and acute illnesses can arise from mercury poisoning in amalgam fillings?
At the same time, there are other problems that can arise from infections that come as a result of root canals or extractions – basically, once you go to the dentist, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the end of the story.
Your tooth is its own organ.
Each of your teeth are linked to the other organs, glands, and tissues that turn your body into a network of functioning systems. So, when you deal with problems that go on within your mouth, they can spread to other parts of your body as well. This can have a damaging effect on the health of your immune system, and result in a flood of toxins that contribute to the deterioration of your tissues and organs.
So, which problems may be eating you from the inside out?
1. Root Canals
The function of a root canal is to essentially kill the targeted tooth. This involves scraping pulp out of the material and cutting off the blood and oxygen supply. It’s basically lifeless, but it’s there.

Unfortunately, this also makes your tooth extremely susceptible to the accumulation of bad bacteria and buildup. The bacteria that remains after the surgery can multiple to the point that millions of little particles are living within the dentine tubules of your dead tooth. This can eventually push potent toxins into the rest of your body, increasing your risk of infection and illness.
2. Amalgam Fillings
If you’ve paid attention to the news since the mid 2000s, you’ve probably become at least somewhat familiar with the issues tied to mercury fillings. These fillings can contaminate your body, where mercury poisoning can damage your immune health, as well as your nervous, cardiovascular, and reproductive systems. If that wasn’t bad enough, the same type of toxicity can also permanently damage the heart, brain, kidneys, and lungs.
These nasty infections are caused by either drug use during tooth extraction procedures, or leaving a tendon attached to a tooth without excavating the infection site. The best way to fight against this is to clean the site out, removing any and all bone, tendon, and dead tissue so that the blood can clot. Believe it or not, letting the blood clot in this area can actually create a new site for healthy cells to grow, filling in the bits of missing bone that were scraped out earlier.
While already being severe on their own, these dental problems can spread and further infect other parts of your body as well. That’s why it’s important to take care of them in the healthiest and quickest ways possible, to minimize the damage and ensure that your mouth stays healthy for a long time.
