Regular honey, like the kind typically used for cooking, has been pasteurized and filtered. In this process, the honey is heated to high temperatures in order to kill any yeast that may be present.
While there is no official US Federal definition of raw honey, it usually referred to honey that’s been immediately taken out of the combs’ cells. That means it’s unheated, unpasteurized, and unprocessed, and does not contain any extra substances or additives. It’s just pure, honey goodness.
