“If you think you got the guts to smoke weed every day (plays Snoop Dogg song) and get paid doing it, you might just be the guy we need.”
In the 33 U.S. states where medical marijuana is legal (including the 11 that allow recreational pot), manufacturing companies are coming up with all sorts of strategies to make their products the public favorite.
If you’ve ever had dreams of being an online weed star and consultant, the perfect opportunity has come knocking on your door. American Marijuana, an online medical marijuana resource company is looking for a dedicated product reviewer who could make up $3K dollars a month ($36k a year). This person would be allowed to work from the comfort of their home while writing unbiased reviews of a wide array of marijuana products including new strains of cannabis, CBD supplements, vapes, and cannabis edibles.
On their website, the company explains that the job is not so much about smoking weed all day long as many people would assume. It requires a level of productivity and communication skills.
“This job is 100% for real and it’s an important job that includes more than just getting paid to smoke weed,” the website reads [2]. “If you think that’s the entire scope of the job, then this might not be for you. We’re looking for someone to review a wide variety of cannabis products to give our readers an honest and reliable insight on various cannabis products. And they have to live in a state in America or Canada where medical marijuana is legal.”
So if you live in Alabama, Texas, Virginia or any of the other 17 states where all forms of marijuana are illegal, they can’t consider you for the job.
This job is not a joke
Founded in 2014, American Marijuana is an online company “composed of cannabis advocates, cannabis specialists, and experienced cannabis writers, determined to provide visitors with informative, transparent, and latest reviews on different CBD products and brands.” They claim to receive about 110,000 monthly visitors as of April 2019.
The selected applicant will receive marijuana products by mail every month and would be required to blog their reviews on each product. This person will have to write the reviews and also get in front of the camera to vlog about their marijuana experience.
“If you think you got the guts to smoke weed every day (plays Snoop Dogg song) and get paid doing it, you might just be the guy we need,” the website reads. “But DO NOT expect us to hire you just because you can smoke because we’re looking for a guy who also has extensive knowledge of marijuana to educate our readers.”
Requirements
To apply, you must be 18 or above. You must write a comprehensive bio or a resume, telling them why you are the best fit for the job while also showing off your writing skills. They require a headshot or a link to a video of you talking about your passion for the cannabis industry.
You must share links to all your valid social media accounts (you’d better have weed-related content on them) and “and at least 6 street names, slang terms, or nicknames of marijuana (so we know you’re taking this seriously!”).
Lastly, all applicants must be physically fit and generally healthy if they are to be considered for the job.
Good luck to everyone chasing the American Cannabis Dream.
