Girl Collects Every Mosquito She Has Killed

When you capture a bug in your home, what do you do with it? Release it back into the wild? Flush it down the toilet? Tossed its squished body in the trash? This girl collects every mosquito she catches and the pictures are both impressive and… odd. (1)

Girl Collects Every Mosquito She Catches

We all have had collections at some point in our lives. Whether we collected rocks as kids or as adults we buy a magnet in every new place we visit, we’ve all done it at one point or another.

This girl collects every mosquito she catches and posted a picture of it on her Twitter under the handle Delisha Day. (1)

How It Started vs. How It’s Going

The “how it started vs how it’s going” challenge has become popular on Twitter. Most often people post pictures of their first-ever photo with their significant other alongside a current one. Delisha Day decided to show off the mosquito collection she has been working on instead. (1)

Her first photo shows her fingers and a squished mosquito. It is captioned “brooo I just caught a macchar [mosquito]”. The second “how it’s going” photo shows an exercise book with numbered, squished mosquitoes taped down inside. Her “kill count” has now surpassed 80. (1)

How the Internet Feels

The Twitter-verse had quite a lot to say about the photo. One user said that the mosquito with the striped legs was his favorite. Another said they were going to show the photo to the mosquitos in their room to hopefully encourage them to leave. (1)

Perhaps the most poignant of all the comments, however, was the user who tweeted:

“When you realize this is actually a cemetery.” (1)

It is not really known why Delisha Day is collecting the annoying insects, but the number she has caught is impressive. (1)

What strange things have you or someone you know collected over the years?
